Trust builds leadership, consistency delivers results.

Yesterday, during my Apple Fitness bike ride, Sherica Holmon’s cycling workout really struck me. Her focus: courage, patience, and consistency as the building blocks for growth.

She said: “Building a habit takes consistency—show up, even when you don’t want to.”

That got me thinking… what if, instead of “closing your rings,” leaders worked on closing their trust rings?

  • Courage: Let go of control. Try a new behavior or approach. Trust doesn’t start with your team—it starts with you.

  • Patience: Change is uncomfortable. Growth can be slow and requires space for others to step up.

  • Consistency: Show up the same way, every day, so your team knows what to expect.

When leaders lean into these behaviors, they expand their own comfort zones and unlock their team’s potential. Trust isn’t fast, but it’s always forward.

What rings are you closing in your leadership?

What steps will you take to build more trust with your team?
