What helps you sort through all your conflict priorities?

Change, uncertainty and chaos are the norm in business, academia and industries today. It’s hard to face, but it’s reality.

As an executive coach, I hear leaders struggling with a lack of focus on purpose, mission or strategy, compounded by tons of changing priorities and mixed messages, both internal and external.

In my Brain by Design course with James Garrett, he shared the Eisenhower Matrix, a simple framework for sorting what is important from what is urgent.

The model asks us to sort our work into four categories:

  • Important and urgent

  • Important, not urgent

  • Urgent, not important

  • Not urgent and not important

That really resonated with me.

Because when everything feels urgent, leaders can start reacting to the noise instead of leading through it. Being on the “treadmill” takes over.

You’re busy. Your calendar is full. Decisions are being made. Problems are being solved.

But are you moving forward?

This is where executive coaching can be so valuable.

Executive coaching creates the space to step back, sort through the noise and reconnect with what matters most. It can also help you manage up and across, strengthen delegation, minimize distractions and make more intentional choices about where you invest your time and energy.

  • What are the key priorities?

  • What strategies will move you and the organization forward?

  • Where are you spending energy that is not creating impact?

  • Who else can do this?

  • What needs to be clarified, challenged or stopped?

Sometimes the path forward isn’t about doing more. It’s about getting clear on what deserves your attention.

I’d love to support you in answering:

> Where is the noise creating inertia for you right now?

> What would help you regain focus and move forward?
